I am a fan and student of the game. I blog because I can.

I have a long history with the team, but I started obsessively watching every game in 1999.

I thought Garry Saint Jean had a decent plan, but failed to execute on it.

I think Chris Mullin had a mixed tenure, and that Nellie saved him from abject failure.

If Mullin had retained power, thereby keeping Nellie on a leash, wonderful things could have happened. For 2 years, they did.

I have a lot of respect for Don Nelson. Before he stopped talking to the press, I learned a lot from him.

I think Bob Fitzgerald has a great delivery, and could have been one of the best play-by-play men in the league. But the previous owner wrecked him by turning him into an apologist and blamer.  So now he has to go, even though the replacement won’t be technically as good.

I have learned so much about the game listening to Jim Barnett. He is the Krukow of hoops.

I lived in Los Angeles for 10 years, and loved the Showtime Lakers. I am also a huge fan of the Shaq-era Lakers, and the Kobe-era Lakers. Rest assured Bay Area fans, your “rivalry” with Los Angeles is one-sided.
